Baking Tips

Our mixes are made for you to enjoy the excitement of preparing at home baked goods without the hassle of having to look up a recipe or measuring ingredients. We hope the following tips will help you in learning some of the basic steps to follow when baking.

  • Always preheat your oven at the temperature in the directions. Use the pan size and baking time call for in each recipe for best results.
  • The butter should be at room temperature, unless otherwise noted. It helps it mix properly with the other ingredients and aerates the batter. Make sure that it does not become so soft that it doesn’t hold its shape.
  • When creaming the butter and sugar for the cookie mixes, be careful not to over cream them. This will cause the cookies to spread too much.
  • Our mixes were developed using large eggs. They should be at room temperature, unless otherwise noted.
  • Spread the brownie mix evenly, this will prevent uneven cooking. When you take them out of the oven make sure you let them cool completely before cutting into squares
  • Choose a thick non-stick baking sheet when baking cookies and for easy cleanup line with parchment paper. Allow cookies to cool in the baking sheet a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to finish cooling. Be sure to keep an eye on your cookies since even an additional minute can brown them too much.
  • Midway through your baking rotate your pan this helps with the even browning and any hot spots in your oven.
  • You can substitute the sugar mix provided in our mixes with Splenda sugars;
